A Game of Shadows

So took to venturing some more into graphic design and I had a lot of fun with our final, which was making up a movie campaign. I chose to work with Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and here are my posters and billboards :

Some small things I did while learning and practicing in Paint Tool SAI, drawing my two favorite Yu-Gi-Oh! GX characters while experimenting with different tools. Definitely loved the pastel brush best.

Found my Illustrator files from my graphic design class last semester! These are from my favorite project, which was to create art from letters using only a max of 4 different letters for each image. The images also had to project the idea of specific words assigned and mine were speed, tension and structure.

Right now I'm trying to do something cute for myself in between school work. Here's a WIP of what I did today

Long absence ends now~ It's been too long since I've posted, but I also find it a little hard deciding what to share as I have not been entirely satisfied with my stuff as of late. Well, I'm still learning, so I guess I'll just try to post regularly and hopefully watching my progress will encourage me more. Anime Expo Aftermath and Class

Well... this last month has been rather hectic. I had an artist alley table at the Anime Expo with my good friend, Ka-chan and we sold scarves, prints and stickers. I unfortunately was unable to complete pins to sell, but looks like Ka-chan might get us another table for the Pacific Media Expo (PMX) later this year. here's some of the stickers and prints I had this weekend :

LOTS and LOTS of sticker designs. But, people liked them and things went pretty well. Even did a couple of sticker commissions while I was there. Had a great neighbor too, and good roommates at the hotel, so it was a pretty good weekend overall.

Also been having fun in the perspective summer workshop I've signed up for. Here's some of the thumbnails I've done for the 1 point perspective assignment, along with a first cleanup I've got so far. 

Gonna work on tonal studies now and start thumbnails for the 2 point perspective assignment now.

Finals week

So I unfortunately have not gotten around to updating the blog... I admit I have gotten many distractions as of late, but fortunately it is finals week, after which I should have less things calling for my attention. I hope to get around to creating some Christmas cards for family and friends and get my holiday shopping done. I should get around to scanning in pages from my sketchbook this week, I hope. In the meantime, here is an image of a design I made for my friend's character, Jonathon.

  I'm glad to hear he was pleased with the colors and style of clothes I chose for him. Initially, the hardest part when I tried to get an image of this character in my mind was that his personality reminded me too much of a prior character my friend had created and it was difficult for me to not imagine Jonathon the same as him. Jonathon's alter ego, Captain Space Jr. was a little more easy for me to visualize, as he was dramatically different from the masked duelist in his theme.  below are some earlier ideas for Jonathon, with a simple headshot of C.S. Jr in the top left corner.

 

These were scrapped since Jonathon looked too simple or too awkward. I finally came to the point to where I found a hairstyle for him that wasn't too wacky, but not so simple while keeping an energetic look. Along with my friend, Alex, I'm rather pleased with the current colored version of Jonathon.
