Happy Valentine's Day

Been really busy lately with animation homework and Illustration, but I wanted to do a little doodle for Valentine's Day. Here are Sera and Jet from Triados. Hope everyone has someone to share Valentine's Day with~

what happens when I deviate from my usual....

I finally got around to drawing some other stuff and I managed to color this picture of Emma yesterday:

I like how the colors came out and I was happy to be use my copic markers again. More than anything, though, I loved my sister's reaction when I asked for her opinion on it:

Me: How's it look?
Jessica: Hmm... it's different from your usual style....
Me: Well, yeah... I was trying to do a slightly realistic style, but is it okay?
Jessica: No, no, it's fine. I meant this was different *points at Emma's chest*

I love my little sis.

Sick

So, Mexico was... interesting. I loved the first week with the family, but the second week with the tour.... not as much. While I'm up for beach time, 4 days of it back to back was a little too much for me. Ah well, at least the rest of my family seemed to enjoy it a bit more. What was a big downer, though, was that we all pretty much got sick. A lot of tissue was used and we all got medicine and shots. FUN. I got better for a while, but got sick on and off again. Even now I was dealing with headaches and sniffles last night.  Either way, I worked on this picture of a character, Lisa, I contributed to my friend's story in the meantime.

Background needs some thing else to it. As far as colors, I kinda went off the idea that she uses "Scrap creatures" but I think I'm gonna change it later.

Leaving for the Holiday

So after much debate, it appears my family will be going to visit relatives in Mexico for the Christmas Holiday. I'll be gone for two weeks and have few opportunities to use the internet, but will hopefully do lots of sightseeing and have lots of photos upon return. In the meanwhile I leave with two more images:

Finals week

So I unfortunately have not gotten around to updating the blog... I admit I have gotten many distractions as of late, but fortunately it is finals week, after which I should have less things calling for my attention. I hope to get around to creating some Christmas cards for family and friends and get my holiday shopping done. I should get around to scanning in pages from my sketchbook this week, I hope. In the meantime, here is an image of a design I made for my friend's character, Jonathon.

  I'm glad to hear he was pleased with the colors and style of clothes I chose for him. Initially, the hardest part when I tried to get an image of this character in my mind was that his personality reminded me too much of a prior character my friend had created and it was difficult for me to not imagine Jonathon the same as him. Jonathon's alter ego, Captain Space Jr. was a little more easy for me to visualize, as he was dramatically different from the masked duelist in his theme.  below are some earlier ideas for Jonathon, with a simple headshot of C.S. Jr in the top left corner.

 

These were scrapped since Jonathon looked too simple or too awkward. I finally came to the point to where I found a hairstyle for him that wasn't too wacky, but not so simple while keeping an energetic look. Along with my friend, Alex, I'm rather pleased with the current colored version of Jonathon.

Greeting

Well, I finally decided to try and start a blog. I should be able to get to customizing the design and background over the next week along with posting some artwork on here.

I look forward to posting here often, whether it be with photos, sharing things I learn or my own personal doodles from my sketchbook. With my being one semester away from graduation, I'm sure I should have plenty to post about. Thanks to anyone who decides to follow along. I hope you enjoy the ride~
